What I liked: The grounds are lovely. Proximity to Langley downtown was 12 minutes. Beautiful hikes nearby. The house itself is cute and comfy for the most part. There is a portable plug in glass top one burner stove. It was easy to use but I had to be strategic when making the beef stroganoff I had planned. I liked that there was a como bathtub shower. The Schlage lock on the door was very difficult to use. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure it out and the lick never worked smoothly. This was very frustrating. I thought it was very pricey for this wee cottage by the sea.

You cannot beat these views! The windows throughout this cottage are extraordinary and ensure you don't miss out on the views no matter where you are in the house. We enjoyed keeping an eye out for whales right from the living room couch and on the ocean-front deck. The kitchen is small but well-appointed for any food prep you might wish to do from the house. There were also plenty of eateries to explore in the surrounding area. There is a wood fireplace in the living room that adds to the cozy charm of the cottage. The spiraling log staircase was a unique feature of this home and led to even better views upstairs! We found all of the beds to be very comfortable and everything we could need for our stay was made available to us. The cottage is situated on a very lovely and quiet wooded street that we enjoyed walking along in the mornings. The moment we deboarded the Coupeville ferry and began our drive through the south end of Whidbey island, we were enamored with the beauty of the area - rolling farm lands, wetlands full of bird life, and the imposing snow-capped Olympic mountains to frame it all! This place is truly special, offering the opportunity to detach from hustle and bustle and experience quintessential PNW coastal life, while also being near enough to all that Whidbey Island has to offer! We will certainly be back.

We spent a long weekend at Saratoga Lodge in early April 2025 and really enjoyed the house and the beautiful setting. The view of the water, the nicely landscaped yard, Mt. Baker in the distance...it all made for great relaxing vibes. It is so quiet and peaceful. The noisiest element was the furnace, but hey, it worked great so not complaining. :) We took our medium-sized dog with us and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the back yard was fully fenced. We didn't cook much, but the smallish kitchen seemed very well appointed. Kudos for having a knife sharpener. So often rental homes have dull knives. I enjoyed the jetted tub, sorry we didn't get to try the sauna. A couple tips for renters: It's preferred you leave shoes just inside the door, so bring slippers. If you are challenged by stairs and steps, this might not be the place for you. Overall, we loved our stay here and would happily return.
