Recent Allyn guest reviews

Our stay at Deer Harbor was the best we could hope for. It had everything we needed plus many thoughtful touches. The kitchen was so well-equipped, even for the large group we had and some fairly elaborate meal prep. (Also, some good restaurants for take-out or eat-in very close and a market, too.) The layout of the house offered a lot of privacy when desired and spacious gathering areas for mingling, too. I loved the visual openness to the river that provided a sense of the outdoors and being in nature even though the weather kept us indoors. There were lots of kid-safety features plus games, toys, and books available. I noticed a variety of watercraft in the garage along with a good size range of lifejackets. Deer Harbor was a great fit for us because it had the scenic beauty and comfort of a resort with all the privacy and independence of a home.

My husband and I spent a few days here after we got married as a little get away. It was great, we had all of the comforts of home, and then some. Then there is the peace and quiet, and calming view of the lake. It made for a great escape, and reset from the daily grind. Virginia was amazing, and the lake house was beautiful, and very very spacious.

The driveway was a little steep and gravel. Everything else was fine.
