First of all the House is Beautiful and perfectly located. The backyard is the Bay, it feels like you are in your own little Paradise. You can sit back in the patio and enjoy the birds fly over the Bay. There are no backyard neighbors its all to yourself. The neighborhood is very quiet. Someone mentioned that Galveston state park connects to the backyard. The hot tub next to the pool made it perfect in the chilly night. Loved our stay, can't wait to go back.

TL:DR - Had a great time. Great location and house, had issues with Vacasa HQ, pool equipment, lack of instructions. Three days prior to arrival we emailed Vacasa to ensure that 1) the internet was strong enough for remote work and 2) that the pool and hot tub would be cleaned and heated by check-in time. The response was to 1) “check the specific unit notes” and 2) “pool/hot tub will be cleaned and prepared”. Upon arrival, the inside of the house was clean. Some dings, cracks and broken knick knacks, but not a big deal. Towels, shampoo, soap and hair dryer are provided. Beds are made. No beach towels. Hot Tub was empty and the pool was on but not working. Outside of the house is not swept. I shook out the entrance mat and swept the front entrance and the exit to the pool so we don’t track palm tree threads in. Wifi internet strength is very good at 424 down and 5.5 up. Ice maker in the Freezer doesn’t work. Looked for ice cube trays and did not find any. Texted Vacasa about the pool not working, no ice, and no beach towels. We will go buy ice. Local Vacasa team responded quickly and two pool guys were out quickly. They primed the pump and got the hot tub filled. They pointed out that one of the pool pump pipes was cracked which lets in air causing the prime to be lost. (Losing prime is like drinking water through a straw with a hole in it) They cleaned the pool. Pool towels were also delivered quickly. Next morning the pool prime was lost again and I texted Vacasa HQ and the local team. Rinse and repeat this issue for a few days. We could still swim, but the pool water was not being filtered. If you have issues, text the local team and not Vacasa HQ. Pool did not work (water not being filtered) 6 days out of 14. Pool obviously in mid-repair since the area around the pool equipment has been dug up and paving blocks are stacked nearby. Vine covering the pergola is dead since the plant’s base was dug up during the repair. No instructions were provided so we learned about the pool controls by trial. Pool guys taught me how to use the pool using hand gestures and Google translate. Pool heater (fan on top) has simple on/off and temp adjustments on it. Hot tub is controlled by a small button controller on the pergola wall. Nest thermostat is a bit of a struggle. It wanted the A/C temp to be around 68, when we wanted it around 74. Nest thermostats “learn” so teaching it to be warmer (and more efficient) was a struggle. (it won) This is our first Vacasa rental after many successful Airbnb rentals. With Airbnb usually there are non-perishable items (spices, foil, ziplock bags…) left and here there were none. The above may sound like I am complaining, but we had a great time. Warm days and a fun area. Very quiet since this is mid November. Location is wonderful. Walking distance to the ocean and to restaurants.

Spacious, clean and comfortable space. Welcoming and helpful staff. Convenient walk or ride to city spots. Incredible view. Some city and road noise but typical for a metro area.
