Where are the Smoky Mountains?

Technically a subrange of the Appalachian Mountains, the Great Smokies rise up along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. A section of the Appalachian Trail spans this area for over 70 miles. From rushing rivers and foothills to some of the highest mountain peaks in the Southeast, you'll find much to marvel at in the gorgeous landscape surrounding you.

What are some things to do near the Smoky Mountains?

Outdoor lovers, rejoice: all your adventuring dreams are possible when you stay in one of our Smoky Mountains cabins. When you’re needing a break from adventure, there is plenty of fun to be had indoors as well, including aquariums, museums, and breweries. Keep an eye out for wildlife, race ziplines over the canopy, and karaoke to Dolly Parton— these mountains are the perfect place to let the good times roll.

Where should I stay when visiting Smoky Mountain National Park?

The cities and towns that pepper the Smoky Mountains are steeped in Appalachian charm. Only 4,000 people call the city of Gatlinburg home year-round, but over 1 million tourists flock to the area annually. This bustling city is full of delightful kitsch and attractions like Ober Gatlinburg, a ski resort and amusement park with indoor ice skating, mini-golf, a rock climbing wall, and even rafting in the summers.

An aquarium, Hollywood car museum, water parks, haunted house attractions, and moonshine distilleries are just a handful of the other activities that make Gatlinburg so popular. Be sure to browse our Smoky Mountain cabin rentals in this city for pet-friendly options, plus homes with swimming pools, game rooms, and more.

Or you can stay in Pigeon Forge, where there’s still an abundance of activities. Dollywood—the amusement park established by eccentric country singer Dolly Parton—offers Appalachian-themed rides and games beloved by travelers of all ages. The Hollywood Wax Museum, Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show, an alpine roller coaster, and more await you at these Smoky Mountain vacation rentals.

Experience for yourself just why the Smokies draw millions of visitors each year. Whether you’re coming for a peaceful getaway to the outdoors or a fun-filled family vacation, our Smoky Mountain cabin rentals and condos are ready to host you. Browse our collection today to find your next home away from home.

This cabin allowed us to truly feel like we escaped our chaos! Our kids had so much fun with all of the games while we enjoyed the hottub, fire pit and the quiet environment. We will be back for sure.

clean and well kept, hot tub was great, just needed to add a little water to make it better.
Rick P. | Nov 2024
TV mods made on the 19th to add Dish made it necessary to use two tv controllers. Bedroom tvs would not show the Dish channels.
