I cannot explain how much I love this property it started with just a weekend trip for my husband's birthday but it is definitely going to be a every year experience from now on until hopefully we can buy this. All jokes aside when you arrive to the address there is a small sign that says vacasa that leads you down a narrow steep driveway, in front of you is the house and to the right is a covered garage space. If you are scared of inclines this location is very steep. Confidence is key, after the second time in a town I realized coming down into the driveway and then backing into the covered garage is the way to go. Anyway the door code works great no issues there got right into the house explored the bedroom and started to set up our stuff. Like I said I want to live at this place so bad the doc down on the lake is perfect for my husband who fished all day on Monday we had a fire in the fire pit that night it was a little hard to get started because we didn't have lighter fluid but that's okay we managed. The old style kitchen with old appliances was so fun to cook in. And the living room space was beautiful when it was sunny and even when it was a little rainy and stormy. Okay only complaints I got which are tiny and meaningless because I'm still going to come back every single year. At first we thought it was squirrels but I think you have a little bunny family living on your property because each night we heard a bunch of scurrying running across the porch. Your hot water heater might need a little updating because I couldn't even take a 10 minute shower without the hot water running out. Like I said totally fine I managed. Last thing is I went out to the patio attached to the kitchen and noticed that both of the barbecues were still dirty from the previous guests and the grate on the Weber was moldy but we just burnt it all off and cooked our food on it anyway. Also there was plenty of firewood provided but no ax to chop up these big rounds of wood, so I did end up going into town and buying some smaller pieces next time we know that we will just bring our own axe.

The views from this place were absolutely stunning, and the deck had so much potential to be a perfect spot for relaxing. Unfortunately, the lack of comfortable furniture made it hard to enjoy. Inside, it felt like stepping into a time capsule—everything from the kitchenware to the appliances, beds, and décor was straight out of the ‘70s. While some vintage charm can be nice, the outdated essentials made the stay less comfortable than we’d hoped. The biggest letdown was the broken wood stove, which would have added so much to the atmosphere. With some updates and attention to comfort, this place could be amazinng.

My husband and I stayed for two nights and we loved it. It is very cozy. I loved the view from the deck. It was clean and comfortable. I loved the feeling of being in the woods while also being able to see to see the ocean. It is secluded yet very close to Lincoln City. I felt that the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. We would like to bring our two children with us next time and take advantage of the TV room and ALL the board games and books they have. This is definitely a home we would love to visit again and again. Thank you!

An Oregon Coast vacation rental in Otis provides easy access to ocean beaches and all the hubbub in town, but with a quiet, inland location near fishing, hiking, and even waterfalls. Plus, because of its geography, while it's cloudy and cold on the coast, the weather in Otis can be sunny and breezy! When you feel like exploring, lace up your hiking boots and visit family and dog friendly Drift Creek Falls, about 12 miles away. From the trailhead you'll travel across a 240-foot long suspension bridge to the 65-foot falls coming off of the Siletz River.

Other attractions near your Otis getaway include the Salmon River Hatchery and the Salmon River estuary - here you can observe brown pelicans, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and other types of shore birds. Of course, your favorite Otis pastime may just be relaxing on your back porch, watching the river flow by.

However you spend your Otis getaway, be sure to stop by the popular Otis Cafe for a hearty, home-style breakfast like sourdough pancakes or chicken-fried steak and eggs before you head off on a hike or spend the day out exploring the river.

At just under two hours from Portland, you can get away from it all in Otis at your very own cabin in the woods right near the Salmon River, the Pacific Ocean, and warm, dry summers.
