This is the second time we booked this condo and plan to book again. Location, view, just the right space. Only a Karen would complain bc everything was perfection.

It is hard to beat the location of this condo on the ocean with nearby Poipu and Brennecke's beaches only a 5-10 minute walk. The views from the upper and lower patios are wonderful, and I think they are the nicest from 101C compared to the rest of the property. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could give a 1/2 star, but I think the value for the money is a little lower than I expected. I found the A/C units finicky - it didn't feel as though the temperature in the room matched the displayed temperature, and the units blew very cold air in one spot in the room. Although they cooled down the rooms quickly, it was hard to find the right temperature balance in the upstairs master. The full kitchen was nice to have, but we had to remind our kids to shut both fridge doors completely as one side almost always popped open when the other was closed. I think the Poipu Shores property would beneifit from additional information/signage pointing out things like the private beach path and recycling center, and I found the narrow parking spots extremely difficult for parking when the lot was full. It would also greatly increase my desire to stay here again if the pool had lights that allowed it to stay open open after sunset as our kids love to swim at night.

Where is Poipu?

Poipu lies on the southern tip of the island of Kauai. It's far from larger towns, with Princeville lying at the opposite end of the island, but close enough to Kapa'a (23 miles away) to stop by and visit. The isolated location is part of Poipu's charm - it's the perfect place to get away from it all and switch to island time.

Poipu's main attraction is its proximity to gorgeous beaches. Poipu Beach Park is a great place to swim in gentle Pacific waves, explore marine life by snorkeling, or simply sunbathe on soft golden sands. Other nearby beaches include Brennecke's Beach and Shipwreck's Beach, as well as the coastal beauty along the Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail.
