The good:
1. The house looks bigger than it is, and the views are stunning. We loved the screened in porch/pool (both first and second levels).
2. TVs are big and the couches are comfortable.
3. Plenty of towels, soaps, and shampoos in each bathroom, which we really appreciated.
4. Loved using the elevator, definitely helps if you have a lot of luggage
5. The dock is awesome, we loved fishing off of it
The bad:
1. The property is located next to a semi-busy Hwy 98, so if you are in the master bathroom upstairs especially in the morning and evening hours the traffic is LOUD.
2. The house has somewhat of a weird layout inside, especially the kitchen counters. If you are 5’ 2 or shorter you will notice how tall they are (not your standard counter heights), same goes for the counters in the bathrooms.
3. The appliances are somewhat outdated. The microwave (again, so high up I could barely reach it) took some time to figure out how to use it. The stove top had 6-step instructions plastered on the wall on how to operate it, which is weird. Please update the appliances to something more modern. Pots and pans were scratched up and dirty, need to be replaced.
4. Internet speeds are okay, but not great. Streaming movies/shows often was problematic because they were buffering all the time.
5. As mentioned above, the views are awesome, you can hear the waves from your bed. But PLEASE put screens on doors/windows. One evening we opened the porch door for some fresh air in the master bedroom upstairs and mosquitos flew in (we got bit).
6. Upon checking in I noticed that the trashcan in master bathroom upstairs had not been emptied……..it had a few (used) feminine napkins in there, which was not something we wanted to see having just arrived. The toilets were not super clean either, the last thing I want to do on vacation is disinfect the toilets. The couch pillows smelled like a wet dog and had dog hair on them – please put pillow covers and wash them between guests.
7. Communication with the rental company was non-existent. We rented hundreds of vacation properties in the past, and the owners at least corresponded once with us to ask if we had any questions. With Vacasa there was no personal communication, only the standard check-in and check-out instructions via text message.
8. If you are coming here for the fluffy, white sandy beach, you won’t get that here. The beach area is almost non-existent.
Overall, great property and the city of Carrabelle is peaceful and easy going it seems. We cooked at home our entire stay but there are several restaurants in the area. Grocery stores are a bit far though. We would consider coming back if some of the flaws were fixed.

Every visit at this home is A+. Coffee watching the sunrise is breathtaking on all of the decks starting with the outdoor sitting room. Walks on the mostly private beach are amazing adventures often seeing dolphins. This visit we saw and hear a loon. This is a home not just a place to stay. The 180 degree view is just incredible. Hard to want to leave.

Aside from not being allowed to heat the pool (even though we offered to pay any fee each day), Sunrise Shores had incredible charm in every room and amazing sunrise and sunset views from every balcony. It was very peaceful and quiet and the jetted tub was a great way to relax after long walks on the beach. I would recommend this house to others but would probably not return unless we would have the option of heating the pool and attached hot tub. No heat option. Go figure. Still, we found serenity at Sunrise Shores.
