Recent Downtown Portland Oregon guest reviews

Those of you who like mid-century design will love this authentic mid-century designed home. Built in the 1950s, many of the original design elements remain including floor to ceiling windows, huge stone fireplace with large stone bench, long open slate-floored hallway and wood paneling. The kitchen is updated where it matters but retains its character with original cabinets and double wall ovens that are straight out of the 50s but still work. The bathrooms are nicely updated with new flooring and fixtures and the master bath still has the original tile shower which is in great shape. The home is open and airy. The location is great--close to the city center and right around the corner from the Hoyt Arboretum and Portland Zoo. We highly recommend this home and found the history provided in the binder fascinating.

The arrival and check-in process was simple and easy to unload and get situated. The space is small, really, so once the bed is out that takes up the entire space. But it was ok for me and my small cat. It was clean and had amenities listed. The host is fairly hands off but present on the property and sometimes up earlier than the 8a.m. morning hour. Streaming was psptty and sometimes internet was as well, which did make it harder to work. Overall nice place with a nice shower, great little kitchen, very safe and protected, and clean. Host is friendly but present.
