What a great spot for a family or small group! The kitchen had everything you could need to make anything you want! Beds were pretty decent. Beautiful sun room and deck. Bonus play room was cool (small space with foosball and TV/loveseat with a bathroom). You feel secluded but can get to civilization in 15 minutes. We had fun going downtown and stopped at the beach. Place was very clean.

The theater apartment was perfect! The pictures do not do justice to how spacious the living area is. The bedrooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and the water pressure in the showers are amazing! It’s walking distance to everything you need/want downtown. The vacasa staff were tremendous texting us our information ahead of time and checking in on our needs. We had 5 adults and a baby, and had more space than we needed! (As an aside, it was very baby safe because there are doors to all the spaces!)

My now-husband and I live locally but wanted a place with some space and separation so we could get ready for our wedding separately but also accommodate our family and friends getting ready with us. This home provided EXACTLY what we were looking for! As the photos already show, the first floor is complete with a living room, dining room, spacious and large kitchen with bar island seating, a large master bedroom with a half bath, a full bath, a separate small study room, washer/dryer, private backyard. The upstairs is interconnected with the first floor but also has a separate locking door to allow for complete division of both floors. Each floor has their own entrance if floors are utilized separately. The second floor has its own living room, a small kitchen with a dining room table, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. I didn’t check every couch but in both the upstairs and downstairs, the living rooms each have a pullout bed in the couch for extra sleeping quarters. One of my favorite features which seems small but I adored was that nearly every room had dimming lights suitable for whatever type of light you might be looking for. Overall, I have absolute no complaints and nothing but amazing things to say about this home. Also, the true Victorian style aesthetics really gave us some gorgeous photo opportunities. Note: For non-local people, this home is located in “Old Town” Eureka which is meant to be in the more tourist area of town. Having said that, Eureka has experienced an influx of homeless persons, and Old Town is easy access to nearly all types of amenities and a men’s shelter. While we experienced no dangerous situations with any homeless persons, you should be aware not to leave ANY valuables in your vehicle at any time. We did return to the rental to find one homeless fella on the front porch charging his electronic devices. We kindly asked him to move along and had zero issues. Additionally, this is right down the street from the Carson Mansion which makes for phenomenal photographing opportunities.

Things to do near our Eureka vacation rentals

Don’t miss your chance for a selfie with one of the most photographed landmarks in the world, right here in Eureka. Built in the 1880’s by gold-rush hopeful turned redwood-lumber magnate William Carson, the stunning Carson Mansion is an architectural wonder of the Victorian era. With its dramatic gables, turrets, and stained glass windows, Carson Mansion is the jewel of Eureka. You can even stay in one of our downtown Eureka vacation rentals just blocks from this historic site.

In the shadow of Carson Mansion, you’ll find Halvorsen and Henderson Parks, along with the western end of the Eureka Waterfront Trail. Perfect for walking or biking, this paved trail runs 6.3 miles along the Inner Reach channel, winding past salt marshes, beneath highways, and beside railroad tracks. Scenic stops along the trail offer benches and interpretive signs.

While you’re staying in one of our Eureka vacation rentals, why not get out on the water? Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center offers stand-up paddleboard, kayak, and canoe rentals. You can even rent a sailboat if you pass the Center’s rigging and skill assessment. Or, you could go paddling, canoeing, rafting, or sailing on an Aquatic Adventure with skilled instructors from the Aquatic Center. If you’re not into the sailing scene, head north to the Arcata Community Forest or the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.
