We stayed in early November. The house was a new listing. We came to visit our grandson's first rodeo (birthday) on the military base. You can jump right out to Boniface parkway which goes right down to the visitor gate into JBER. The neighborhood seemed quiet but it was very cold when we were in Anchorage so noone was really out n about. There is a lovely nature trail along the back yard. We saw our first moose using it one morning. Amazing! A moose in this tight neighborhood!! Being a new listing the house appeared to be in progress of being fixed up. The downstairs was cozy. Not sure if the kitchen was well equipped as we only did breakfast there. It was 19° most of the days we were there, the furnace never quit running so the house was nice n warm. Took awhile to get it up to comfortable temp when we got there. The upstairs had many projects left undone which I would assume, at this writing, 5 weeks later, have been fixed up. All in all Refection Manor provided us with a cozy home to come home to after frigid days out n about. You aren't able to use the garage, which would have been nice due to snow but we could sweep the car off and snow removal was provided for the driveway by the vacasa team. All in all Reflection Manor provided our family great respite after a day out n about in frigid temps. We would stay there again mostly due to perfect location to airport and JBER.

We had a great stay. The house was spacious for the kids to play and in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was clean and in working order. Would definitely stay here again!

Anchorage is the portal to all things Alaska, and an Anchorage-area vacation rental positions you perfectly to explore the Last Frontier. Whether you’re here to ski, hike, or simply take in all the natural beauty, you’ll find what you’re looking for at an Anchorage vacation rental.

Things to do near your Anchorage vacation rental

Anchorage is the state’s biggest city, so it’s your best bet for restaurants and entertainment while you’re in Alaska. It’s also the gateway to various wilderness areas and mountain ranges, like Chugach State Park and Prince William Sound. In town, be sure to check out Anchorage’s array of waterfront walking and biking trails, like the beautiful Coastal Trail at Elderberry Park. Kincaid Park, a few miles out of town, is another great option for exploring.

Skiing and more at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood

Just down the road from Anchorage proper sits one of the area’s hidden gems: Alyeska Resort. This incredibly scenic ski area and resort village welcomes visitors in every season, with thrilling ski runs available during the snowy months. Alyeska and the town of Girdwood are basically synonymous, sharing territory and activities among the cabin and condo rentals in the area. An Alyeska visit isn’t just for ski season, though—it’s the perfect vantage point for helicopter tours, boat tours of Prince William Sound, and so much more. And you don’t need to stay in Alyeska to enjoy it: an Anchorage vacation rental is within easy day-trip proximity to all that Alyeska has to offer.
