Rustic and Serene Cabin with Great Home Essentials, Close to Skiing

Come experience the beautiful union of sustainability and craftsmanship in this eco-friendly Government Camp vacation rental lodge. True to its pedigree as the first restaurant in Government Camp, it has been lovingly repurposed using up-cycled and locally sourced woods, dedicated now to serving as your own private mountain refuge. Wonderfully equipped for large groups with two living areas, a large dining hall, and amenities like Netflix and free WiFi, you'll also have easy access to all the seasonal activities - hiking, fishing, skiing - that come with the natural beauty and abundance of the Mount Hood region.

Step into the living area where the pale, knotted wood walls, wood floors, and hand-crafted furniture (locally sourced from Sustainable Northwest Woods) envelopes you in an atmosphere that's classic lodge. After a stroll into town and a visit to the local shops and general store, come back to the comfort of your own private Government Camp lodge and relax before dinner. If it's chilly, flip on the gas fireplace, reminiscent (yet more efficient) of an old stove. The big shovel, barrel, and wall-mounted sled add to the charming, rustic decor.

A big group has a big appetite, and this large, fully equipped kitchen is up to the task of satisfying it! Yes, you could sit down at one of the eateries in colorful Government Camp serving everything from shepherd's pie to prime rib, but you needn't bother. Your designated chefs will have everything they need to create a hearty meal any time of day. From the new gas stove, to the big fridge, microwave, and voluminous counter space, this kitchen is the perfect combination of beauty and efficiency. When the meal's done, serve it up at the long table by the window with room for 10. Clean ups will be a breeze with the dishwasher. (And, bring along some of your favorite beans for the coffee grinder!)

With its four bedrooms and loft, this spacious Government Camp vacation rental lodge strikes just the right balance between comfort and size. You'll enjoy the exquisite feel of high-end, organic linen sheets and duvet, and you'll sleep on beds locally crafted by Cotton Cloud (note that the mattresses on these custom, hand-made beds are a little firmer than most, and without a box spring). The wood-lined character of the lodge continues in two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a queen bed, the other a twin bunk. There's a tastefully decorated, full bathroom with a walk-in shower on this level as well.

Hold the rough-hewn banister securely as you make your way to the upper level. Up here, you'll find a bedroom with a comfy queen bed and a big dresser. Step into the second bedroom and you'll find two twin bunks. There's fun up on the upper level as well! Relax in the second living area where you can listen to a CD, watch a DVD, or just settle in with a book or magazine. There's room for more on the futons in the loft, bringing the total to 12. This home has two full bathrooms.

From this roomy and rustic Government Camp vacation rental, you'll enjoy mountain views and vistas of the ski slopes in the distance. And speaking of skiing, winter is premier in Government Camp, offering you a number of venues to test your skills. Skibowl and Summit Meadows are right in town. Trek up beautiful Glade Trail to Timblerline where you can also visit the iconic Timberline Lodge. Head southeast around the other side of Mount Hood (about a half-hour's drive) to Mount Hood Meadows.

In summer, Government Camp is a perfect gateway for hiking and biking, with 25 trails. The Salmon and Sandy rivers are close by, so that means great fishing. And golfers: tee up at Foxglove, about 15 minutes away.

No matter when you come, this rustic and eco-friendly Government Camp vacation rental lodge is waiting to make your stay comfortable and memorable, offering a doorway to all the great sites and activities in the Mount Hood area!
