We just returned from our first trip to Mexico—and wow, Tulum completely stole our hearts! The town felt incredibly safe, full of charm, and gave us a true taste of authentic Mexican life.
The apartment was perfect for a large family. With three spacious bedrooms, a sleeper sofa, and four full bathrooms, everyone had plenty of room to spread out and feel comfortable.
The location is excellent. It’s easy to get around if you have a car, but also manageable by bike. One bike was provided with the unit, which we used a bit. The owners kindly offered to buy an additional one, but we preferred using the car.
The kids absolutely loved the pools—especially the one right off the patio, which felt like a private oasis.
Tulum offers a great variety of beach experiences, but Playa Paraíso was our favorite. It’s a paid beach, but absolutely worth visiting at least once.
Overall, a great apartment and a beautiful destination. We can’t wait to come back!

This Tulum apartment was hands-down one of the best places I’ve stayed in Mexico. It was my first time exploring outside of an all-inclusive, and it felt like a way more genuine experience. The area felt very safe and local—with tons of great food spots all around and none of the resort-y pretension.
The apartment? Massive. Perfect for groups. We were two families traveling together, and the layout with 3 large bedrooms (one can even function as a separate unit), a sleeper sofa, and 4 full bathrooms was awesome. Fully equipped kitchen too—we cooked up some epic breakfasts and grilled steaks on the patio. Having a washer/dryer in-unit was clutch in the humidity.
Beach life here is unreal. One day we would go to a public beach. Another day, we chilled at a beach club where you just have to hit a food/drink minimum. Another day we would go to Playa Paraíso (paid) —totally worth it, it is gorgeous.
Back at the apartment, the two pools were top tier. We started every day with a plunge—kids dove straight into the ground-level one off the patio. The rooftop pool was great for sundowners. There's even a pool table in the shared space, which kept the kids (and adults) entertained.
Bonus: there's a charming little alley next door full of restaurants and a playground—great place for an evening stroll.
