The location is great, with short walks to the incredible twin rocks and the big tree trail. The kitchen was surprisingly well-stocked with high quality tools, pots and pans, and dishes. It was a very comfortable place with great light and nice furnishings. We had one complaint about the hot tub, but we got a very speedy response, which we appreciated.

We had a great time at Beach Whale. The accommodation was close to what was advertised. We did run into a few hiccups during our stay. The code to the door didn’t work when we arrived, but Vacasa had someone there within 20 minutes to change the battery in the lock and get us in. She was great. Well done! We also found that the outlets in the upstairs bathrooms didn’t work. We tried to reset the GFCI but it wouldn’t reset. I checked the breakers and had no success. Not terrible but inconvenient. Another issue we had was with the kitchen faucet being difficult to move. Not an issue for most of us but my wife had difficulty with her arthritic hands. The pool table downstairs was a bit disappointing as it had one of the side bumpers loose and was of no use during a game. Fortunately, they were friendly games and no money exchanged hands. All in all, the house was fine for our visit but I have to say, not up to the standards of the last two houses we rented from Vacasa. And, I think we might have paid more for this one.

If this house were any place else it would not be worth the money. But it’s location right on the beach with a spectacular view tilts the scales in its favor. Pros: -The view absolutely cannot be beat. There were two reclining chairs that were easy to turn around to face the window and we just sat in those and watched the stormy ocean. It was a great place to unwind. -The house was very clean -The stove and oven both worked very well. -There was a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave that all worked. -The beds were comfortable and the linens clean. -The water pressure in the shower was great. -There was a gas barbecue grill on the back deck. We didn’t use it, but it looked to be in good operation. -even though the house is pet friendly, the carpet felt and smelled clean. It was very old and very stained, but I didn’t feel grossed out. Cons: -House has not been updated in years. -going through the kitchen cupboards and drawers is a little like pawing through a Goodwill bin after all of the good stuff has been taken. There were mismatched and random items in every cupboard and drawer. It’s definitely eclectic. -While the water pressure in the shower was good, the shower stall itself is very small. Difficult to wash your hair without the water pouring on you because there was no place to get out of the stream. -we had no Wi-Fi for our entire trip. We tried to reset the modem several times, to no avail. We texted the contact number but nobody ever got back to us. Without Wi-Fi the television didn’t work and our computer computers had to work on data. -the beds were comfortable, but very old and creaky. There were mattress toppers on what were obviously very old and worn mattresses.
