Discover a picturesque escape at the foot of Mt. Adams at this four-bedroom Trout Lake property, a beautiful lodge and adjacent guest house with a gorgeous private deck, nearby access to hundreds of miles of muti-use trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and mountain biking in the summer, and an incredible piece of property on the shores of the White Salmon River.
Stunningly situated on a six-acre parcel of land with 625 feet of riverfront access, this upscale retreat is secluded, elegant, and surrounded by open countryside. Here in the pine trees, you'll be just one mile north of the town of Trout Lake, three miles south of cross-country skiing and snowmobiling at the Pineside Sno-Park, and 26 miles north of Hood River on the banks of the Columbia.
No matter the season of your vacation, you'll also have access to a bounty of local hiking trails, snowshoe trails, and river rafting excursions in the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mt. Adams Recreation Area.
Step inside the three-level main house to find a living space that seamlessly blends comfort, luxury, and charming alpine atmosphere. Gather with your loved ones amid exposed brick and natural wood beams, cool off on summer days in the central AC, or curl up by the fireplace on snow-filled winter evenings.
Begin each morning in the beautifully appointed gourmet kitchen, an open space that overlooks the river and the backyard. Heat up the waffle iron, grind some fresh local coffee beans, and blend some fresh fruit for homemade smoothies. You'll also have a stainless steel gas stove, plenty of island seating for your sous chefs, an eat-in breakfast table, and a dining room with space for 12.
Stack the plates in the dishwasher and head outdoors to enjoy your breathtaking natural surroundings. Read a book at the table on the deck as the river rushes beneath you, entertain family and friends in the covered pavilion, or light the gas grill for an al fresco lunch around the picnic table in the grass.
Watch your children squeal with delight as they play games of tag on the grass. As the sun begins to set, take that as your cue to grab a seat by the firepit on the covered porch, or recline in an Adirondack chair by the stone fireplace in the pavilion.
On summer and winter nights, the whole group can retreat to the media room downstairs, where you'll find a 70-inch cable TV (basic cable only), a DVD player with a small collection of films, and surround sound that is wired both inside and outside of the home. Throw a few logs in the wood-burning stove and challenge your kids to a few friendly games of pool, foosball, or poker.
The main house features three bedrooms and three bathrooms that will accommodate as many as six guests. The bedrooms offer one king-size bed, one queen-size bed, and a set of twin beds, as well as a futon. The fourth bedroom and bathroom are located in the guest lodge above the garage, which provides the perfect amount of privacy for four more guests. The maximum occupancy for the whole house is 10. The one guest house bedroom has a queen-size bed and a queen-size sofabed. There's even a small living room, a convenient kitchenette for preparing midnight snacks, and a gas-powered fireplace to add warmth and character.
The three-bedroom lodge can also be rented alone for fewer guests. Event use available for an extra fee. Please ask reservationists via telephone for more information.
Additional amenities at the Riverwood Lodge & Guest House include WiFi and a private washer/dryer, which will help you research and prepare for every possible outdoor adventure.
Although this home is a spectacular destination in its own right, you'll also be within minutes of fantastic recreation in winter, spring, summer, and fall. Come winter, heavy snow conditions can provide guests with ski-in/ski-out access to the nearby Pineside Sno-Park, where you'll find groomed cross-country ski trails and snowmobiling opportunities at the foot of Mt. Adams.
Come summer, join River Drifters, Wet Planet Whitewater, Zoller's Outdoor Odysseys, or one of the other local outfitters on the rapids of the White Salmon River. Windsurfers will be a short drive from world-class conditions on the shores of Hood River, while hikers will find countless trails in the Columbia River Gorge and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. You can even hop on your mountain bike and find miles of traffic-free roads just outside your front door.
