Luxury Gallery District home steps from beach with chef’s kitchen & gardens

Affectionately named The Long Fox, this stunning federal-style home presents a 4BR/4BA getaway once owned by the famed artist Charles Webster Hawthorne. Recently profiled in Remodelista, the gorgeous interior spans 4,000 square feet and blends modern luxuries with original pine flooring and cabinetry.

Located in the East End Gallery District, your ideal locale is steps from beach access, galleries, nightlife, and shoreside dining.

LIVING AREA

Serve hors d'oeuvre in the designer living room, or stream shows in the family room -- detailed with a 50-inch smart TV and a pass-through to the dining room.

The office provides a shelf-filled loft with a writing desk and lovely natural light.

KITCHEN & DINING

The impressive chef’s kitchen is configured with a 48” Thermador range, dual dishwashers, and ample soapstone counter space. Chill favorite bottles while dinner simmers -- the adjacent wet bar features an ice maker and wine fridge.

The oversize island seats six, while the light-filled dining room includes a table for eight.

BED & BATH

Sleep soundly in the skylit primary suite, highlighted by cathedral beam ceilings, a smart TV, and an inviting king bed. Soak up the sun on the deck, where two loungers overlook the gardens. The spa-like bath includes a walk-in rain shower, a Japanese soaking tub, dual vanities, and a separate water closet.

The spacious second suite occupies the entire top floor, complete with a living area, a table for four, and a queen bed. A convenient kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, dishwasher, and efficiency cooktop. The en-suite bath holds a walk-in shower.

Two guest rooms are each furnished with a queen bed. One guest bath holds a walk-in shower, while the other has a compact soaking tub.

OUTDOOR AREA & AMENITIES

The kitchen opens to a bluestone terrace, equipped with a gas grill, a gas firepit, lounge seating, and alfresco dining space for eight.

The quaint front yard holds a sunny spot for morning coffee, while the expansive rear gardens offer space for an after-dinner stroll.

THE LOCATION

Built in 1850, this rental has been home to several Provincetown luminaries, including Charles Webster Hawthorne -- whose Cape Cod School of Art turned Provincetown into one of the world’s largest artist colonies. It is one of the largest homes in all of Provincetown.

More recently, artist Ciro Cozzi and partner Patti called this property home (two doors from the landmark Ciro & Sal’s Restaurant). Nephew Philip Cozzi of Hein + Cozzi helmed this remarkable remodel.
