Recent Wilmington guest reviews

The house was a pleasure to cook, relax, and sleep in. The space was incredibly clean. The decor was very interesting too.

This is an adorable little cabin about 10 minutes outside of the small town of Wilmington. Guest service and responsiveness through vacasa was fantastic, and the house itself is really cute. It is a wonderful location for a romantic getaway (which I used it for) with plenty of outdoor activity's in either the summer (for lake raponda) or during winter for the myriad of ski options. For those reading multiple reviews, you will see that clenliness is the lowest rated statistic. HOWEVER I wanted to write this review specifically to address this. It seems that most people who rated this place low on cleanliness failed to realize that this is an off grid vacation cabin completely surrounded in the woods. Therefore it will obviously be a little more rustic. The cleanliness reviews do not do this place justice, it is wonderfully serviceable.

Very nice cute quaint home. Cozy and warm with an excellent fireplace. Full kitchen is great especially for my extended stays. Convenient location. Easy check in and out. Would stay again.

Where is Wilmington, VT?

This historic town in Windham County of Southern Vermont sits right at the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest. A mere 11 miles from the Massachusets border, it is nestled snugly in the heart of a snowbelt, making it a fabulous destination for winter sports.

Just eight miles north, you'll find world-class skiing at Mount Snow, host of the Winter X Games and other events. A bit past Mount Snow, just 14 miles north of Wilmington, is the exciting town of Stratton, which is full of shopping, dining, and a wonderful day spa for skiing aches.

Things to Do in Wilmington, VT

This charming village is a mecca for shoppers. Not only is there a wide variety of quality goods to peruse, but most of the shops are found in historic and architecturally interesting houses. Browse the works at the Art of Humor Gallery or visit the Jim McGrath Gallery and Studio to find pieces by local artists and hear about their work.

If you're in town for a family reunion or wedding, book Wilmington’s Historic Memorial Hall for a truly special venue. No ordinary town hall, it is considered to be one of the most significant buildings in the state. For any avid golfers, Haystack Golf Club is nearby if you're looking for a green.

Seasonal Activities in Wilmington, VT

Whatever your preference - cross-country skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling - there are plenty of places to go. Mount Snow is the most famous, where you'll enjoy amenities in the neighboring town of Dover, but it is by no means the only option. You'll find plenty of backcountry trails in the nearby wilderness. If you don't want to leave your cozy Wilmington vacation home, just head to the backyard and build a snow fort!

Harriman Reservoir is a gorgeous setting in any season, but summer in particular is excellent for hikes, picnics, and photo shoots. Rent a boat and get out on the tranquil water, or spend hours swimming and fishing in the summer. If you're around in the autumn, enjoy the stunning colors as leaves turn russet and gold.

Rent some bikes and take long rides as a family - it's the best way to get around town and see the most nature you can while you're here! Visit the sugarhouses, where sweet-smelling steam billows out and sap becomes delectable maple syrup.

Long afternoons on the deck gazing out over the Green Mountains, steaming mugs of cocoa before a fire, and more await at your cozy vacation rental in Wilmington, VT!
