We loved the lake! Everyone at Vrbo are very friendly and easy to work with!

We rented Gnomes Nob for four weeks in August in an effort to escape the heat of our South Florida home. The house is great, good layout, great backyard, and fantastic neighborhood. The non recreational lake is small but provides an excellent backdrop for the Northwoods vibe we were looking for. The beds and furniture are comfortable and the kitchen reasonably equipped. We worked remotely for about two and half of the four weeks and the Wi-Fi was suitable for our needs. The area has decent restaurants, a good grocery store, and cool morning temps we were craving. The neighborhood is amazing for walking and morning runs. I would say that the hiking is a bit better in the Michigan UP, but we found numerous decent trails within an hour of the house. I gave the house four stars mostly because I am a tough grader and save five-star ratings for truly exceptional stays. We were very happy with Gnomes Nob and would absolutely consider returning.

Our family of 6 adults, two 10 month old babies and our dog had a wonderful late summer vacation at Two Sisters Lake. The house was absolutely perfect for our family. The house truly had everything you could possibly need including a high chair and pack and play crib. We didn't use the crib but did use the high chair which worked great. And for any dog family the property was perfect for pets too. The owners have thought of everything you might need while on vacation. We would definitely recommend this property and if we go back to that area would definitely stay there again.

Where is Rhinelander, WI?

As far as the Northwoods go, our Rhinelander vacation rentals are the most southerly of the region. Rhinelander is home to more than 230 lakes and 11 trout streams, all within a 12 mile radius. For this reason it’s an angler’s paradise; a water sports fan’s heaven.

Things to do in Rhinelander, WI

If there’s one thing you’ll notice about Rhinelander, it’s likely their official symbol, the Hodag. This legendary creature has gone from myth—supposedly first spotted by a lumberjack in the 1800s—to an official mascot. You’ll spot images of this green, horned fellow all over the city surrounding our Rhinelander cabin rentals, and can commemorate this eccentric tradition with a souvenir from the Hodag Store. There are multiple sculptures around town, including a giant effigy outside the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce on Kemp Street.

To spend some time in nature, you can visit one of the many lakes and rivers surrounding your Rhinelander vacation rental. Rental companies offering boats, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards are ready to help you experience your best day on the water.

Bird-watchers will delight in spotting waterfowl, woodpeckers, and maybe—if you’re lucky—bald eagles that inhabit the area. Almon County Park is an excellent spot for birding or just to spend a day outdoors. Stop by the Hodag Farmers Market to put together a lunch to enjoy at the picnic tables. There are two mostly flat trails around two miles each, the Woodland Trail and Wetland Trail, for an easy hike or jog.

There’s always something fun happening in this city, and there’s no wrong time to book a Rhinelander vacation rental. In the summers, enjoy the Hodag Country Festival for some live music, or the Fourth of July parade and fireworks display. Fall is a great time to visit our Rhinelander cabin rentals, between the changing leaves and the annual Harvest Hoedown, which offers line dancing, live music, a pumpkin patch, and more. Winters in the Northwoods offer beautiful snowshoeing along the flat trails and miles of forest, plus a Christmas parade, tree lighting, and Lights of the Northwoods event.

The Northwoods have held a special place in the hearts of travelers for decades. Experience the natural beauty and fun, friendly way of life with one of our Rhinelander vacation rentals.
