Recent Manzanita guest reviews

I want to welcome you to a properly stocked cabin for rent in Manzanita, OR. I must share with you how pleased we were when we arrived at this adorable three bedroom cabin over the weekend. This easily beat out the Air b&b we rented last year, mainly because it was stocked with modern amenities, working appliances, and the photos of this cabin don't do the space justice. It is much newer than it looks, and the wood, much lighter in person. I am so happy we chose to give this cabin a try, and the price well worth the stay for the value. There were plenty of towels and linens, with a washer/dryer in unit to use for our convenience. Full refrigerator with working ice maker and filtered water. a box fan was helpful upstairs to keep the air moving throughout. The space stays warm, and there is a gas fireplace to keep you cozy. There is plenty of lighting for the darkest hours in the hallway, and steps are lit so you don't break your neck going down the stairs late at night for ice water. Mall things to consider: If I were able to change anything, the overhead lighting was white and not consistently warm throughout. I would make it consistently warm lighting to match the charm of the rest of the cabin's ambiance. The staircase is beautiful. I suggest you just watch that top step as it's not as wide as the rest. Our first morning we were woken up early by the builders two doors down to the right with work on that new property. They're building upon the foundation still, and must have been working with a pressure washer. It was obnixious. They used that machine for hours, and made it impossible to sleep in. We are fast learners, so, by the next morning, we used the fan as white noise, and I found my ear plugs to help sleep in. We finally heard birds for a while and that made me happy. All in all, I believe you will love this place. Puzzles, games, smart TV for streaming capabilities, set up in a cute lot with a beautifully green, lush bluff as your backdrop looking outside the back windows. Don't forget to walk to the Main Street and shop. People are incredibly friendly, and the local art is fun.

Location was excellent. We walked to fun shops. Got some Christmas presents, books, chocolates. We walked to the beach and found shells, agates, rocks, driftwood forts. The kids loved the loft. The game selection offered something for everyone. The record collection was a fun trip down memory lane. Explaining tapes to my kids was interesting. Thanks for a great stay. We will definitely be back.

Where is Manzanita, OR?

Nestled between Arch Cape to the north and Rockaway Beach to the south, the town of Manzanita is nestled at the base of Neahkahnie Mountain, a 1,600-foot peak that juts out into the Pacific Ocean from the coast, providing a spectacular backdrop to the scenery along the beach.

Things to do in Manzanita, OR

For hiking enthusiasts, trekking up to the Neahkahnie summit on a clear day is a must; the views along the shoreline down to Tillamook Bay are magnificent and make the challenging climb well worth the effort!

For those who prefer less strenuous activity, take a stroll from your charming vacation home for a long walk along Manzanita's beach stretches from the base of the mountain to the Nehalem Bay Jetty, where seals lounge on rocks as pelicans and eagles fly overhead.

Or, get up close and personal with the nearby Nehalem Bay on a coastal kayak tour. The town itself has just enough retail and restaurant options to meet the needs of most travelers while feeling considerably more intimate than the more developed downtowns of Cannon Beach and Seaside.

Along the main drag of Laneda Avenue, visitors can enjoy cardamom cinnamon rolls at the Bread & Ocean Bakery, a cold pint at the San Dune Pub, a well-earned massage at Spa Manzanita, and pick out a floatable Frisbee at Four Paws on the Beach; after all, Manzanita is one of the most dog-friendly spots along the Coast and we have a number vacation rentals that welcome pets to choose from!

The town even offers a natural-foods grocery and a few lovely bookstores - perfect for browsing on rainy days!

Day trips from Manzanita

Heading south along Highway 101, the fisheries and seafood markets near Rockaway Beach are only 12 miles south, and bigger-city amenities (along with a certain cheese factory!) are a 26-mile drive away in Tillamook. A Manzanita rental will also put you just 15 miles south of Cannon Beach's upscale boutiques and galleries and within half an hour of Seaside's bustling boardwalks. Manzanita is just under two hours drive from Portland, making it an easily accessible weekend getaway for city folk, but certainly also isolated and intimate enough to provide a truly relaxing Oregon Coast experience.

Spend your time taking romantic strolls along the beach or paddling Nehalem Bay and its adjoining river on a kayaking adventure. The choice is yours when you stay in one of our Manzanita vacation rentals!
