Very nice n quiet setting.

We loved the location, the home and the yard. The place is well appointed and works for a small family. The dogs loved the yard and were impressed with the entertainment outside of the fence. Two cats came to visit regularly. It was not fire pit weather but at a different time of year it certainly could be. We would love to become regulars.

The room was clean and nicely supplied with a good supply of paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, shampoo, towels, and garbage bags. The area was quiet and close enough to everything we needed. It was so nice to have a big refrigerator and a stove because we like to cook and brought food for our 4 day stay. The cottage needs some hot pads and a cookie sheet pan, or a pizza pan as we made pizza one night and had to improvise with foil. BTW, bring your foil, saran wrap, baggies, salt, pepper, and spices if you do cook. The bed was a bit hard for us, but we are older and have arthritis, so we travel with a memory foam mattress topper, which we used on the queen-sized bed. We slept well. The shower would be so much nicer with a portable head and a safety bar, but we appreciated all the hot water. The bathroom sink needed a snake to remove all the hairs as it would not drain properly. A small fan would be nice or an overhead fan would be even better. The door lock was a HUGE problem for us. You have to enter 10-11 numbers, and we had to try about 10 times to enter the room. There are no keys for backup. When we spent the day sightseeing and came back we again had issues opening the door. Fortunately, the kind and helpful owners were on the property and gave us a hand. Even though they had problems, in the end, it was a success. The next day as we were leaving we could not get the door to lock so we had to leave it unlocked for the day. Fortunately, we had no issues, but that is a huge concern, and we doubt we would stay again due to the lock situation.

Things to do in Ocean Park

The most obvious attraction in Ocean Park is the beach - all 28 miles of it! Soft sands, crashing pacific waves, and a nice summer breeze all make for a fantastic day out, whether you're sunbathing with your friends, splashing around with the kids, or enjoying a long, romantic walk with that special someone. If you arrive at the right time of year, you can take advantage of Ocean Park's unique location: as one of the five areas in coastal Washington designated for clamming, you can bring a bucket and some shovels and catch all the delicious clams you can eat!

Ocean Park may be a small town with less than 1,600 residents - but that doesn't mean there's nothing to do! The downtown area is full of small shops and charming restaurants - in the case of Adelaide's Books and Coffee, it's both. Adelaide's is actually based out of the former Taylor Hotel building, a historic landmark built in 1887. When you're not taking in a good book and some coffee along with some history, you can always head to the docks and watch the boats bob in the water.

Golf and outdoor activities near Ocean Park

There are plenty of things to see and do just a short drive from Ocean Park. Golfers will love taking in some fresh ocean air with their game at Surfside Golf - just three miles north, the course boasts a great value for nine holes. Leadbetter State Park is six miles farther north, and offers beautiful surroundings for hiking, boating, fishing, and more! 15 miles south of town is Cape Disappointment State Park - the name of which says nothing about the fun hiking and camping that awaits! Ocean Park even has access to Long Island, with only 36 miles between you and the gorgeous forests of the National Wildlife Refuge.

Day trips from Ocean Park

In addition to nearby coastal towns like Seaview, Oysterville, and Long Beach, Ocean Park is surprisingly close to the two biggest cities of the region. The metropolis of Seattle is only 181 miles away, or about three and a half hours by car, with its beautiful skylines, incredible restaurants, and a wide variety of museums, galleries, and attractions. Beautiful Portland, 122 miles to the south, is even closer, with its unique low-key atmosphere, bustling art scene, and eclectic sights like food cart pods and the world-famous Powell's City of Books.

Whether you're looking for a quiet romantic getaway, a family trip to the beach, or to explore some charming small-town restaurants and shops with your friends, you're sure to have a great time in Ocean Park. With miles of gorgeous beachfront to explore, several nearby parks, and plenty of sights to see, this is one coastal Washington town you don't want to miss.
