Perfect location and home for our short trip.
Susan G. | Mar 2026
This is a great cabin situated in a beautiful area, very close to the slopes, great choice for families. Everything inside - kitchen, furniture, bathrooms is very basic and roustic, but comfortable and clean and we had everything what we needed. We very much appreciated the jacuzzi time. The beds were comfortable, and we appreciated many books and games- which made it great for a family vacation (even if we passed the age). Our major issues were with the guest services: The check in was very confusing to us. I nitially I received a message with one code for the key - and after 24 hr I received a completely new message with two different codes which I actually missed. Apple maps were confusing and took us to a different location, however google maps were more helpful . We arrived late, at night, and had difficulties finding location using the apple maps, and then the lock code I had was not working (since I did not see the second message from Vacasa). We were lucky to meet the neighbor - at midnight, who surprisingly actually knew the correct lock code. We felt very lucky to meet with him, and he was very nice and respectful, however it led to major questions privacy and security. Also, the sink in the bathroom upstairs was clogged - luckily we had the unplug tool available on the side and it was easy to help ourselves - however this should not be our job on vacation. I left a message on Vacasa asking to talk to somebody about this the next day - nobody called back. In fact, I am not sure if the text messages with Vacasa were with a real person or actually an AI type of thing - since at some point, I received Chat GPT type of answers and decided to stop the communication. In addition, we were notified in advance about the jacuzzi guy coming one of the days, however they could not give an exact time and did not give a courtesy call before. This was very inconvenient since he needed access to the house and I was interrupted during a webex meeting. Luckily we were home, otherwise this could have also created major problems with the service dogs. Overall, I think this is a beautiful, spacious cabin in a great location close to the ski - perfect for family trips. It can definitely use some improvements, however we made the best out of it. The customer service should certainly improve: it was well below expectations, and this could be an easy fix.

We loved the location for its ease of access to the town plaza and other historic attractions.

Find New Mexico vacation rentals and cabins

With a state motto like “The Land of Enchantment,” it’s hard to go wrong in magical New Mexico. Red dirt, rugged forests, otherworldly dune landscapes, pristine ski runs, and so much more await New Mexico visitors. None of this is new to the state’s residents. The Taos Pueblo, for instance, has been inhabited for over one thousand years. However, with one of the lowest population densities in the United States (44th, with only 17 people per square mile on average), one might say there’s more than enough New Mexico to go around. Come see what it’s all about—we offer New Mexico vacation rentals for every taste.

Skiing in New Mexico

During the winter, New Mexico transforms into a skier’s paradise. Destinations like Angel Fire are known by locals and visitors alike as low-key alternatives to the crowded resort towns of other states. With over 80 trails, Angel Fire Resort offers some of the finest skiing in the country. Plus, there are plenty of options for advanced skiers, like night skiing and terrain parks. For beginners, you’ll find tons of lessons, easy slopes, and, of course, cafes and in-town diversions if you decide that skiing really isn’t for you. It’s all possible from the comfort of your New Mexico cabin rental.

National forests in New Mexico

Summer visitors to our New Mexico cabin rentals are rewarded with the state’s bounty of national forests. Take advantage of the mountains’ mild summer climate and hike in the Carson National Forest, the southernmost portion of the Rocky Mountains. The layered red stone of the Echo Amphitheatre is a must-see, and Eagle Rock Lake makes a delightful destination for fishing enthusiasts. The sprawling Lincoln National Forest and wild Cibola National Forest are further proof that New Mexico is the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature.

Whether you’re visiting the Land of Enchantment to find yourself on the trails or give the kids a proper ski education, you won’t be disappointed in what this beautiful state has to offer. Settle into your New Mexico vacation rental and let the adventure begin!
